{"id":726,"date":"2017-07-26T13:31:14","date_gmt":"2017-07-26T12:31:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.933.me.uk\/wordpress\/?p=726"},"modified":"2024-05-13T11:48:44","modified_gmt":"2024-05-13T10:48:44","slug":"italian-pork-sausage-with-beans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.933.me.uk\/wordpress\/2017\/07\/26\/italian-pork-sausage-with-beans\/","title":{"rendered":"Italian Pork Sausage with Beans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ingredients &#8211; 4 Servings:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 onion, chopped<\/li>\n<li>3 carrots, finely chopped<\/li>\n<li>3 sticks celery, finely chopped<\/li>\n<li>3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped<\/li>\n<li>2 tins cannellini beans<\/li>\n<li>1 tin borlotti beans<\/li>\n<li>4 or 5 sage leaves<\/li>\n<li>1 tin chopped tomatoes or 4 tablespoons of passatta.<\/li>\n<li>App 1 litre of stock &#8211; vegetable seems to work best but it doesn&#8217;t matter<\/li>\n<li>6 to 8 Italian pork sausages (if possible containing no rusk) or other good quality all meat pork sausages<\/li>\n<li>olive oil<\/li>\n<li>pepper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Put enough olive oil into a large saucepan to lightly coat the bottom and start on a medium heat, add the onion, celery, carrot &amp; garlic, sweat for a couple of minutes. Turn up the heat slightly and add the sausages, cook for a few minutes. Add the sage leaves, after a minute add the beans, tomatoes, some fresh ground black pepper and enough stock to just cover the contents of the saucepan and reduce to a simmer.<\/p>\n<p>Leave to simmer for app 30 mins, the beans should still have a bit of bit to them.
